Here it is, mid-December and the temperatures are running in the 70’s. Being from Ohio I have had many a cold Christmas with lots of snow. Our first winter here in South Carolina was enlightening; we were all too quick in tossing all our heavy coats, gloves and snow shovels when we moved. Yep, you guessed it – that year we had enough snow that you actually had to shovel with a 3 day ice storm to top it off.

In honor of all those chilly days and holiday movies you are watching with the snowy winter scenes, here are a few sweet confections for your viewing pleasure.

I also lived in Ohio! I think it was the snow storm of ’72 where it snowed 24″ in 24 hours. Couldn’t even open the door to go outside so we went through the garage door to play in the snow.

I will never forget my daughters first snow and how much fun it was to watch her walk in it. We built a small snowman because of course in Belton we normally only get enough for a tiny snowman. I will never forget the memories of snow as a family.
I’m originally from Belton and still liver her now!!

You’re from Ohio and I’m from Anderson. When I think of snow, I think of a comfy chair, with my heated blanket, coffee, a great book!

Funny, we had snow the first year here too! I remember unloading our moving truck and several of the people here were making fun of my 5 buckets of snow clothes. Guess who everyone was calling two months later….. This girl!!! Beautiful cakes as always!

Lol! We were laughed at for adding a generator….that was the 3-day-no-heat year. Laugh away while we stay warm. 🙂 Thanks, Jessica!

When I was in 6th grade we missed 4 days of school. All the neighborhood kids were at my house, my mom had hot chocolate and cookies when we came in to warm up. We had a fire going and my dad made sure it stayed warm in the house all day. We would dry our gloves and hats around the fire screen. Best time ever

When I was pregnant with my second daughter my husband and I went to the movies on Christmas day with a couple of our friends. When we came back outside after the movie a snow storm had hit and our vehicles were covered. We played in the snow in the theater parking lot before any of us could bare to leave.

Favorite snow memories was as a kid we had a huge hill in front of our house. All the neighborhood kids would gather and sled/slide down the hill.

I remember coming home from a week of snow in Virginia to a week of ice and snow here about 8 years ago now. Why can’t we get beautiful snow every year? !

I love snow! Unfortunately we don’t see it very often. The best snow recently was the one several years ago when we had a white Christmas.

I had the pleasure of growing up in Maine snow reaches the power lines on both sides of the roads. I road a snowmobile to school in high school and one morning the snow drifts were huge I buried my snow mobile and had to walk 4 miles. Only in Maine would the school get four of the biggest boys in your biology class excuse you all from class and send you all back up the trail to get the sled out. Imagine me driving 4 guys and myself back to school on my Polaris Indy! Fun times

About 2 years ago we were in Ohio working. It was some of the coldest weather they had had in 30 years the locals would say. It was the first time I have ever seen so much so. We were at work one day when it started snowing again. The lady that done paperwork walked outside with me picked up some snow; and balled it up and tossed it to me and started a massive snowball fight between us and all the workers! I remember thinking wow I have an awesome job!
